For the last few months, we have been preparing a section of our field for the arrival of five alpacas. The field was drained, ploughed, re-seeded, rolled and re-fenced. Our team also built a new shed and shelter for them.
Finally, on Friday, 27th June, our five boys arrived. They were born and bred locally in Cockerham. Our team were all on site to welcome them.
Each has a distinct character and colouring. There are two types of alpacas : Suri and Huacaya. We have 4 Huapaya and one Suri. They have all been named: Merlin, Woody, Bluey, Dusty and Snowy.
We will be offering “Alpaca Weekends” when we will be inviting our caravan owners along with their families to learn more about these fascinating animals and there will also be the opportunity to walk them.
